Winter is our backyard

winter 2.jpg

Canada is known to have some of the best outdoor terrain in the world.

With four distinct seasons, it offers a variety of activities all year round. For half of the year, Canada experiences winter in the harshest form with snow, sub-zero temperatures, ice and slush. Many individuals still brave the outdoors to experience what the Great White North has to offer

Running in the winter isn't a stranger to many but there aren't many options of lightweight, weatherproof-ability and good traction for the multiple phases of winter.

I find screws from the hardware store works best, spikes on the market tend to be too long and often times I injure myself since they aren’t suitable for all terrain

MAIN CONCERNS

CONCEPT

Winter footwear should be functional, provide warmth and visible. It should offer different options for different terrains, the grip needed for slush is very different for grip needed on ice or on snow.

The main idea behind this unique winter running shoe is the ability to have interchangeable grips on the bottom of the sole. It allows for easy customization and adaptable to the terrain of the runner.

KEY Features

VISIBILITY:

Daylight saving reduces the amount of daylight in the afternoon and often times runners who run after work do so in the dark. It is important for the runners to have some sort of reflective garment for road safety

LAYERS:

When outdoors in the winter, it is important to wear multiple layers; it provides you with the option to customize based on your needs.

FUNCTIONAL:

Grip and non slip soles are extremely important to make sure injury is at a minimum.
